Have you noticed I’ve been sharing a few more sweet treats on the blog? Even though I love to cook savory dishes, I also enjoy baking the occasional indulgence. But it wouldn’t be in Fit Housewife style to share sweet recipes with tons of butter, sugar, and oil now would it!
Most of the desserts/treats you will find here will have healthier ingredients. The only exception to this rule is birthday cakes. I fully believe that a person should have one day where they can eat their favorite cake without any guilt! Who could forget the Rainbow Cake.
Last weekend, I wanted to make a chocolate cake. But I didn’t want to make your typical chocolate cake, I wanted something a little bit different. I was looking through my cookbooks when I came across a recipe for chocolate fudge cake. It sounded wonderful…and it was!
Just look at that fudge oozing out of the cake. I’m lucky I actually got a picture of it before it was gone! My hubby kept asking me when I was going to be done taking pictures, he couldn’t wait any longer.
This cake reminded me of a hot fudge sundae. Gooey, warm, and extra chocolaty. And look at those nutrition stats! Less than 6 grams of fat for a big piece of cake.
Don’t forget to top it off with some low-fat ice cream or frozen yogurt.
