My First Foodie Penpal

by Jen on May 31, 2012

This month, I participated in my first Foodie Penpal experience.  Basically, you sign up at The Lean Green Bean blog and you are matched with someone who has also signed up.  You then put together a little box of goodies for your penpal and mail it to them with a little note saying what’s inside the box.

I thought this would be a fun experience, and I was right!

I was matched with Colleen, a fellow Canadian!  She asked me what my food likes and dislikes were (not many dislikes here!), and then sent me a little package with some fun stuff inside.

Wanna see what she sent me?

Look how nice she packaged that…tissue paper and all wlEmoticon smile My First Foodie Penpal

In that little box was tea, maple mustard, maple roasted almonds, dark chocolate, granola bar, and a little jar of raspberry orange jam.

I’m not going to lie, the chocolate and almonds were gone the first day.  My husband has a thing for nuts and I have a thing for chocolate.  I’m slowly enjoying the rest of the food.

I want to give a huge thank you to Colleen for sending me such great food!

I also sent a package to someone.  In it, I included homemade chocolate granola, chocolate almond butter, and a chocolate bar.  Can you guess my theme was chocolate?!

If you would like to participate in Foodie Penpals, head on over to Lindsay’s blog and sign up!

How spooky. The person who sent my my box this month was a Colleen too! Looks like you got a great box. That maple mustard sounds really different (in a good way!)
