Kids Lunch Idea

If you are like me, you are probably tired of making your kid’s school lunches.  Sure, the first couple of weeks I was really creative and had a lot of lunch ideas.  But now, my creativity has run dry.  Pinterest to the rescue!  If you haven’t checked out Pinterest yet, you really should.  There are so many great ideas, including kids lunch ideas!

I just had to share this kids lunch idea with you.  My kids love it, plus it’s pretty healthy, a lot healthier than those pre-packaged lunches you buy in the deli section!

Doesn’t that look like fun?!  I know your kids are going to love this idea just like mine did.  Plus, it’s so simple to put together, you probably have all of the ingredients already.

To make this healthy, I recommend using natural peanut butter and whole grain goldfish.

1. Pick up a pretzel

2. Dip pretzel in peanut butter

3. Stick it on a goldfish

4. Eat!

So the next time you need a fun and creative lunch idea for your kids, try this kids lunch idea!

Kids Lunch Idea

Ingredients

  • Pretzel sticks
  • Whole grain Goldfish crackers
  • 1 Tbsp Natural Peanut Butter

Instructions

To serve at home, put 1 Tbsp peanut butter on a plate. Serve with pretzel sticks and Goldfish crackers. Dip a pretzel stick in the peanut butter and then stick a Goldfish to the peanut butter coated pretzel stick.

For a school lunch, put the peanut butter in a small reusable container. Put pretzel sticks and Goldfish in separate containers or small zipper-closure bags.

That is so cute! We will have to do that one at home. Both my kid’s schools are peanut free. I never realized how much peanut butter my kid’s consumed until they were not allowed to bring it!
I have to get on the pinterest bandwagon. There are a lot of creative people out there!
Our lunches have been getting pretty boring and repetative, I definitely need to make them a bit more exciting!! Too much is coming home untouched.

My kids school’s are peanut free as well, so I usually do this one at home too! I have seen peanut-free butter in the store, and it tastes just like PB. Maybe something to try for school :)

We use almond butter for school. Or sunflower butter. Almond butter tastes different and is a differnet texture, but is good for you, but sunflower seed butter gives you the advantage of a smooth nut butter taste, without the peanuts. I get both at Trader Joes.
