My Hammer and Chisel Month One Review and Results!
I am so excited to share my month one Hammer and Chisel results with you!!
To be honest, after the 3rd week of the program, I wasn’t noticing much of a change in my body. I was wondering if the program was really working. But then I told myself, “why are you expecting change after just 3 weeks!!?” I tell my Drop a Dress Size challengers that all the time – don’t expect amazing results so quickly! That’s why so many people give up on their health and fitness, because the results aren’t happening quick enough.
I’m here to tell you that your results will come, I promise!! You just need to stay consistent.
Let’s prove that theory, shall we?
Here is my “before” photo and here is my “one month after” photo:
I was noticing a lot more “fluff” around my waist a little while ago. At that time, I was doing a lot more cardio-style workouts. You see, even I have trouble getting the thought out of my head that you must be dripping in sweat to burn calories and fat. It’s just not true!!
I’ve been following the Hammer and Chisel calendar for one whole month now. I have NOT added in any extra workouts like cardio, abs, etc. Trust me, this was hard at first because I’m used to sweating! But I told myself I was going to commit 100% to this program and follow it to a T.
From the photo above, you can tell that my abs and core are much more defined now than they ever have been! Proof that lifting weights and doing strength training is what changes your body!!
Okay, so now you know that the workouts work. But what about my eating?
I have been watching what I eat most of the time, with a few little extra treats here and there due to the Christmas holidays and birthday parties. I try my best to stay within my calorie range. So if I can add a piece of birthday cake and still be within my calorie range and meet my macros for the day, then I EAT THE CAKE!!! Life is too short not to enjoy a few indulgences here and there, right?! I just make those indulgences worth it! I don’t indulge in something just to indulge. It has to be totally worth it.
You may be wondering what food plan I’m following while doing Hammer and Chisel. Well…I’m not really following the Hammer and Chisel meal plan exactly. You see, for my body, I need around 2,000 – 2,200 calories per day. So plan C is a little too low, and plan D is a little too high…I’m somewhere in between. Instead of eating a certain number of containers each day, I track my calories using the LoseIt app on my phone. I aim to eat around 2,000 calories per day, depending on my workout and my day. Sometimes it’s more, sometimes it’s less. Then I use the containers to measure my food throughout the day. My meal plan looks like this:
I drink the Recharge shake in the evening because I do find it helps my muscles recover better and I’m not as sore the next day!
I may or may not have been watching The Bachelor when this was taken 😉
Overall, I am loving Hammer and Chisel! It is a challenging workout, but it’s totally doable. If you are looking to take your fitness to the next level or reshape your body, then this program is for you! It’s the perfect amount of strength training and cardio to keep me challenged, focused, and excited about each new day. Bring on MONTH 2!!!
Remember, summer bodies are made in the WINTER!!!
