Whether you are a brand new Beachbody coach, a veteran coach, or thinking about becoming a coach, here are my TOP 4 TIPS that will help you run a successful and meaningful business.
Are you a brand new Beachbody coach? Maybe you haven’t even signed up yet but you’re considering it? Or heck, maybe you’ve been a coach for a while now and just aren’t seeing any change in your business.
When I first signed up as a Beachbody coach 3 years ago, I had NO idea what this business had in store for me. All I knew was that I had used the products for a while and had seen amazing success.
At the time I signed up, I had 3 little boys at home (they were 4, 5, and 6) and my husband was working some crazy hours. I was drinking Shakeology on a daily basis and was looking to save money on it. Also, after losing 90 pounds, people tend to ask you what you did to lose the weight 😉
I figured, why not sign up as a coach, get the 25% discount on the products I already use, and earn some commissions from referring people to Beachbody!? So that’s what I did.
What I didn’t realize is how many women I would actually help reach their health and fitness goals! It’s been amazing to meet so many women along the way. I look forward to each day and reading their messages and posts in our private accountability groups!
Not only have I met some amazing women, but I’ve been able to stay home and work at this from home while being with my 3 boys. Even though they are all in school now, I’m grateful I can drive them to school and be there to pick them up at the end of the day. And I feel like I’m contributing something to our family income, which feels great. We’ve been able to do some major renovations to our home since I’ve become a coach.
This success at coaching didn’t just fall into my lap though. It takes a lot of hard work, determination, and drive! It’s just like your fitness; you can’t expect to see amazing results if you don’t put in the work! But at the same time, I feel like you need to stay true to who you are and not become a Beachbody robot!!
Over the past 3 years, I’ve learned a lot about myself and a lot about coaching. So today, I want to share my TOP 4 TIPS for new Beachbody coaches:
1. Beachbody Isn’t EVERYTHING!
You’re probably wondering why I’m even saying that!?
While I personally love the products and have had major success with them, it doesn’t mean everyone is going to feel the same way. Sometimes, you have to meet people where they are at.
For example, I have clients who prefer to workout at the gym or prefer to run outside. That’s great! I’m not picky, just as long as you’re working out and enjoying what you do, it doesn’t matter what it is. Even if it’s not a sale for you, I strongly believe you should still be there to support them and help them reach their goals.
2. Stay in Touch With Your Customers and Coaches Even When They Fail
I struggled with this in the beginning. I couldn’t understand why people kept falling off their plan and then having to restart all over again. But then I remembered back to when I was first trying to lose weight, and how hard that was!! I gave up all the time! So it’s only natural that the people you are trying to help are going to do the same. That doesn’t mean I give up on them. I’m always here to support my clients and help them get back on track when THEY are ready.
The same goes for any of my coaches. I used to only help my coaches that were actively “working” their business. But when I really thought about that, it sounded kinda cold hearted. I mean, why wouldn’t I want to help someone that is struggling, NO MATTER WHAT?!! Isn’t that why I’m a coach? I speak from experience because I know a coach who is SUPER successful yet won’t help their coaches who aren’t a certain rank, etc. It feels like a let down to me, so I don’t want to treat my team the same way, nor should you.
3. Stop Trying To Fit Into The “BOX!”
When it comes to your business, stop trying to fit into the box. What I mean by that is, it’s YOUR business, you run it how YOU want to run it! Just because some other top coach says you should do this or this to be successful, doesn’t mean you have to do it. That’s the beauty of this business, it’s yours and you can run it how you want to.
If you want to go all in and aim to be top coach in the company, great, go for it. If you want this to be a hobby to support your passion for health and fitness while helping others, then do that. If you want to do nothing with the business and just enjoy the discounts, then do that!
Personally, I’m more of a hobby coach. I love helping other people experience the same success I’ve had. I’m not looking to hit a certain rank or be top in the company or earn the top dollar. My family is my #1 priority, and to keep it that way, I feel like I only want to work this business part-time, when it fits me and my schedule.
4. Only Do This Because You Love It
Like I mentioned above, I LOVE to help others reach their health and fitness goals. To me, it’s not about earning a ton of money and getting recognized as a top coach. I love waking up to emails and messages each day of women telling me how happy they are that I’m helping them change their lives. To me, that is satisfaction enough.
If you feel like coaching is forced and it just doesn’t come natural to you, or that you’ve lost the initial spark you had when you first signed up, then take a break and do an internal gut check.
Trust me, I’ve felt like quitting before when things were getting too stressful or weren’t working out the way I had hoped. In March of this year, I took a step back, did some soul searching, and decided that I wanted to continue coaching and helping others, but still stay true to who I am as a person. I stopped caring about getting to a certain rank, I stopped caring about reaching a certain milestone. What I do care about is helping others with their health. PERIOD. So even if I earned nothing doing that, I would still continue to do it so long as God, my health, and my family are #1.
