Low Carb, Grain Free, Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Refined Sugar Free, Paleo
Being a busy mom to 3 boys, I love recipes that don’t take much time! These low carb and grain free granola bars are just that!
I used to buy my boys Fiber 1 granola bars, thinking they were a “healthier” option. One day, I decided to look at the ingredients list…and I was blown away.
I like to use the app Fooducate to see how a certain food rates. Fiber 1 is rated at a C-. Here’s just some of the ingredients:
- Semisweet chocolate chips (sugar, chocolate liquor, cocoa butter, soy lecithin, natural flavor)
- corn syrup
- canola and palm kernel oil
- high maltose corn syrup
- soy lecithin
What is marketed as a “healthier” alternative is actually not healthy at all!
Now, I make my own granola bars! With this recipe, you just throw everything in your food processor and then put it into a pan to bake. It’s simple and you can pronounce and feel good about every single ingredient. These are also grain free, gluten free, refined sugar free, dairy free, and Paleo.
